The Value Adjustment Board (VAB) for Pinellas County, Florida, hereby gives notice that on Thursday, September 24, 2020 commencing at 1:00 P.M. the VAB will hold an organizational meeting. At this meeting, the VAB will approve local administrative virtual hearing procedures, and decide any other matters brought before the Board.
A Message from Clerk Burke: Jury Trials scheduled to resume October 26
The Florida Courts Efiling Portal will be unavailable due to maintenance on Saturday, September 12th starting at 12:00 a.m. (EDT). The estimated downtime is 5 hours.
Effective September 4, 2020, all open and re-opened cases assigned to Sections 8 and 21 were reassigned to new Sections pursuant to Administrative Order 2020-022. The judges currently assigned to Sections 8 and 21 will continue to schedule and hear open cases through December 31, 2020, even though the case has technically been reassigned. Any hearings scheduled after December 31, 2020 must be scheduled before the new Section judge. Please see the Administrative Order for additional details.

Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, has been once again reappointed to the Florida Supreme Court Standing Committee on Fairness and Diversity. Since his initial appointment to the Standing Committee in 2012, Clerk Burke has been reappointed every two years when the term expires.

After 15 years with the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Division of Inspector General (IG), Hector Collazo Jr. officially retired on June 30th, after building the IG to be a benchmark for other Offices of Inspectors General in the State of Florida. Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, announced the promotion of Melissa Dondero to Inspector General/Chief Audit Executive, effective July 5, 2020.

The Pinellas County Clerk’s office was recently recognized as a Call Center of Excellence by the Association of Government Contact Center Professionals (AGCCP). The Award of Distinction for “Shattering Expectations” is a prestigious recognition within the customer service and support industry.
Effective July 1, 2020, the service fee for conducting an electronic foreclosure sale will increase from $49.00 to $59.00.
The Pinellas County Business Technology Services will be upgrading the automated after-hours telephone system. As a result, the Clerk’s Customer Information Line (727) 464-7000 will be unavailable on Friday, May 29th from 6:00pm – 11:00pm (EST). The Value Adjustment Board (VAB) for Pinellas County, Florida, hereby gives notice that on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 commencing at 10:00 A.M., the VAB will reconvene to act upon the Special Magistrate recommendation for VAB Petition 2019-0001 for the 2019 tax year, to approve the Final Certification of the 2019 tax rolls, and to consider any and all other matters that may legally come before the Value Adjustment Board.
The Child Support application will undergo maintenance on Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 am (EST). This will result in an outage lasting approximately one hour.
The Value Adjustment Board’s Special Magistrate will hold a public hearing on Petition 2019-0001 on May 6, 2020 at 2:00 P.M.
The Child Support application will be upgraded on Thursday, April 16th at 8:00 am (EST). This will result in an outage lasting approximately two hours. During the upgrade, payment functions and information retrieval through all channels (in-person, call center, IVR and the website) will not be available.
Effective Monday, April 6, 2020, the Clerk may electronically notify the Personal Representative’s attorney of a claim filed in an Estate due to a revision in Florida Rule of Probate Procedure 5.490. This will allow for a more immediate notice of such a claim.
Saving a trip to the Clerk’s office, while obtaining Supreme Court approved forms online just got easier. The Pinellas County Clerk is pleased to announce a new service to help guide self-represented litigants through personalized questions online, which will then create forms for filing with the Clerk’s office.
