1 August Transferring a Deposit Will Filed in Pinellas in Error August 1, 2018 By ClerkWeb News Archive deposit will 0 Posted: February 28, 2017 Transferring a Deposit Will Filed in Pinellas in Error Previously, the Clerk required a petition and proposed order to transfer a Deposit Will to another county when it had been filed in Pinellas in error. The court has decided this is no longer necessary. Effective March 1, 2017, the Clerk may, upon written request, send the original will to the Clerk in the appropriate county by certified mail. There is no filing fee for transferring the will. However, there is a certified mailing cost, currently $6.59. The request should indicate to which county the will needs to be transferred. The written request may be e-filed (into the deposit will case number), but at this time, it is not possible to pay the certified mail cost in the portal. If filed through the portal, someone from the Probate department will follow up with the customer for payment of the certified mail cost. We hope that this new procedure will make transferring a will more convenient, in the event it is filed in Pinellas by mistake. Please contact (727) 464-3321 or email Probate@mypinellasclerk.org should you have any questions.
